KUALA LUMPUR: AWC Bhd has secured a RM23.1 million subcontract for plumbing, silo tank and internal sanitary works at a data centre project, marking its engineering division's third data centre contract in the past 12 months.

In a Bursa Malaysia filing, the engineering services group said its wholly owned subsidiary, Qudotech Sdn Bhd, accepted a letter of acceptance from a joint venture contractor for the works.

The contract is scheduled for completion by June 2027 and is expected to contribute to the group's earnings for the financial year ending June 30, 2027, until its completion.

Group chief executive officer and president Datuk Ahmad Kabeer Mohamed Nagoor said the latest award reflected customers' confidence in AWC's ability to deliver specialised works for data centre projects.

He said securing three data centre contracts over the past year demonstrated that the segment had become a consistent and growing source of work for the engineering division.

"As demand for data centre infrastructure continues to accelerate, we are increasingly recognised as a trusted partner for complex, mission-critical projects of this nature. We intend to build on this momentum to establish a deeper and more enduring presence in the sector," he said.

Ahmad Kabeer added that AWC would remain focused on executing its healthy order book, which stood at RM865 million as at end-March 2026, excluding the latest contract.

He said projects secured in the previous financial year had started contributing to earnings and were expected to gain further traction as execution progressed.

Headquartered in Subang Jaya, AWC operates four core businesses comprising facilities management, environment, engineering and rail.

Its engineering division specialises in plumbing, building management systems, and heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
